Genesee Water Sanitation District
2.92 Acre Freshwater Reservoir
1 Deep-Flo Mixer
INSTALLATION NOVEMBER 2025
The Genesee Water Sanitation District operates a freshwater reservoir to store water prior to treatment and distribution to area residents. The reservoir is slightly larger at 2.92 acres and deeper thus holding approximately 100-acre feet (32.5 MG). The water source is the Bear River and is a typical mountain stream. The reservoir has algae concerns.
Bob Calley won Manager Of The Year Award at the Colorado Rural Water 2026 Annual Conference. Call him for a reference! He is very proud of his Deep-Flo Mixer!

Deep-Flo Solution!
Circulate the reservoir from a depth below the primary intake level (customer selected) to the surface on a daily basis with an exchange rate of 3-5MG/day. This will create a relatively uniform body of water and limit the nutrients drawn into the water treatment plant.
Eliminate thermal stratification and improve the digestion of nutrients as a means of reducing or controlling algae.

Provide real time water quality data (Dissolved Oxygen and Temperature) to provide a water management tool to identify water quality conditions of the source water prior to disinfection and distribution to the public.
