Platte, South Dakota
22 Acres, 3 Wastewater Lagoons
5 Shallow-Flo Mixers
INSTALLATION MARCH 2025
The city of Platte has a 9-acre primary, and an 8.59-acre secondary, followed by a 2.5-acre polishing pond. The city has had BOD and TSS violations for the past 15 years. Sludge levels do not appear to be a concern; however, the city is expecting a new permit which will likely increase the number of violations. The loading for the primary ponds exceeds SD regulations for a non-aerated system and is expected to increase (equaling more violations).

Shallow-Flo Solution!
Eliminate permit violations for DOB, NH3 and TSS
Circulate the volume of the top ½ of the primary and secondary ponds every 3-5 days to optimize oxygen concentrations and BOD removal efficiency
Reduce algae levels in the final pond via accelerated biological activity while extending process season spring, fall and winter
